Jason出生在一個溫馨幸福的家庭，有疼愛他的爸爸和媽媽，父母的個性樂觀，也養成 Jason活潑的個性、凡事樂觀的態度。但很不幸地在Jason五歲的時候，爸爸因為投資失敗導致金錢的週轉出現問題，禁不起這樣的挫折，爸爸的心情愈來愈不好，生活情況也愈來愈差，心情鬱悶的結果讓爸爸天天喝酒度日，但仍舊無法解決問題，而且，每一次爸爸心情跌落谷底時，就會喝更多的酒；生氣時，罵媽媽＆Jason，甚至動手打他們，在這種暴力環境下生活，媽媽和Jason不但過著擔心害怕的日子，連脾氣也都變得很暴躁！
不久Jason上小學了，由於無法控制自己的脾氣，他和同學根本無法好好相處，不是經常欺負弱小同學就是和同學打架，還常常做出對老師不當的行為，這件事傳到校長那裡，校長很生氣想將Jason退學，但是抵不住Jason媽媽的苦苦哀求，只好讓Jason繼續留在學校；但更糟的是—Jason經常跟老師頂嘴、在老師或同學的抽屜裡放玩具小蛇嚇大家、還會打同學的屁股……等等，使得大家愈來愈討厭他！Jason卻不在意。
有一天，學校聘請一位新的女老師---Patty。Patty老師的個性溫和、心地善良，又很有耐心，她瞭解Jason的所有情況，體諒他這些不當的行為，並極力要開導他走回正確的道路，日子一天一天過去，在老師用愛與耐心的關懷之下，Jason慢慢改變了，不但不再跟同學打架，還經常幫助同學，而且成為老師得力的小助手呢﹗
從這個故事中我體會到一個人的成長受到父母及環境很大的影響，在愛與關心裡成長的孩子，他們能養成良好的品格，但是在暴力下長大的孩子，他們的性格就容易暴躁，所以，成長環境真的很重要﹗
